Hey guys, just a couple of new shots trying out some new lighting/processing techniques. Please let me know what you think and anything you have to add (advise, crit etc.) is more than welcome :). I'm just starting to get serious about Automotive photography so advise at this stage is really needed haha.

Cheers, Angus.

My ute, lit combination of 4 photos where I individually lit the bonnet, side panels, roof and tray.

My mates VTR, lit using light painting (sortah) with about 4 flashes of a strobe head w/softbox on the bike and then one reflected off the roof for the background. This one's in my garage hense the boring composition - working time/space was very limited.

I'll throw up one more of the ute, just to give you seasoned guys out there an idea of how I was shooting before. It'd be great if someone could give me there opinions on pros/cons of each approach - i'm primarily a landscape photographer hense the natural light approach comes far more naturally to me.

You are aware that what you're trying will work best for a silver car & rapidly go downhill with other colors, starting with white & working down to black? Since you're already used to "the natural light approach", I suggest that you read the links in my Sig. For me, late light is the best, & easiest, way to go.
#2 is unevenly lit, & the bright background of the pic makes the bike look dark by comparison? Look at post #30 here to see what I mean: A few Car Lighting Tips (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70290)

Hang in there, and...
