Is there a sun shade for the A70. Whenever I photograph out of door, the didplay sceen goes blank. I also have a Nikon Coolpix for which a sun shade is available. When using the optical view finder the parallax distortion makes for many unhappy results.

Any advice is appreciated.

TIA
Gerald

Yes..You can get shades for the LCD screen..The only problem I have found is that while the screen is shaded what you get is your reflection in the glass. I suggest you look at Hoodman web site.

I would be interested to know how you get on.

This is a very common problem with LCD screens. If you have a good magnified viewer, you end up with a functional SLR -like experience. I made one using a slide viewer with the back removed, fastened to the camera with velcro. That hoodman site quoted above has a design for a loop fastener. I have used this design to attach a magnifying loupe to the camera.

FYI: The S1 IS shows the same electronic image through the viewfinder as you would get on the LCD and therefore functions just like the above, as well as showing the photo afterwards. Perfect for older folks with presbyopia. However, I may still try the above idea on my A70.
