I was just wanting to get your opinions on which lens you think is better the Leica or Canon L Series Lenses. Thanks and happy photo taking

My guess is that it depends on the lens. I don't think Canon has anything that matches the Leica 19 mm Elmarit R for example. On the other hand, it's hard to beat Canon's telephoto lenses, and especially the super-teles.

I agree with Tom. Hard to tell on a 'general' basis.
But I think that it will be very hard to find Leica lenses that beat the Canon 35/1.4L, 85/1.2L or 135/2.0L.
Also ... better for WHAT?
I think that Canon L lenses are better for taking pictures with a Canon DSLR (than Leica lenses with an adapter) because they have AF :wink:
Other than that, they both can produce stunning photographs (with the right photographer)

I tell you what.. Lieca makes some fine glass,. but I'd muchh rather have Fully AF Canon USM lenses then any crystal clear manual lens.. heck I'd even prefer a good Sigma HSM...
