I think it's an interesting shot, but maybe I'm missing some problem. please point out to me.

I posted it in another forum and got only one response.

You did a very good job cloning the utility terminal out. As far as the photo, you've kind of got him dead center, I think using the rule of 3rds might've helped you here create a more intersting composition. Also you may have almost used too fast of a shutter speed, some motion blur would've created a feeling of movement, as it is he's almost appears posed. Maybe you could play around with motion blur in photoshop. It is a good shot though, don't get me wrong, just a couple of ideas.

You might try playing with different effects in Photoshop to make the picture more interesting. I think it's "all there" and just needs to be brought out for everyone to see. I played with your picture a bit and tried to "pop" him out of the photo to capture the action that is there and pronounce the intensity in his stride that his face shows.

I think it looks pretty good! Maybe crop a bit off the top & the left so he's moving more into the pic?

I think there are 2 main reasons why some/many photos don't get comments or critique:

- there are so many photos posted that there is not enough time to both view and post a comment.
- because of the high number of photos I think many concentrate on one or 2 of the categories. I mainly look in Nature and Animals which is also my main interest in my own photos.

I do look in other forums but only if the subject title catches my attention in the list "New Posts". Titles like "Please cirtique", "first picture" etc don't catch my attention. I don't think I saw Your post but if I had I would probably skipped it anyway because rollerskates isn't something I am interested in. The same goes for Franks post although the title was catchy and I did see that one, but football does not interest me at all. I even turn of the TV when Denmark plays in european football EM/WM etc!

Thanks, Tommy, for the explanation. And Frank -- I feel your pain, or some such phrase.

Tommy and Brandon, I think you're right about the crop. The original is actually landscape orientation and I'll play with it.

Bryan - I'm not usually one for effects like that, but in this case you've gone over-the-top fantastic. It looks like he's exploding out of the frame. I really like it. Thanks.

kind regards,
