Have Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS and a Canon 17-40mm 4L lenses. Anyone have any input on what would be a good filter for both, seeings they are both 77mm?
Trying to reduce the glare on harsh lit days....what do you think?

Thanks,

Steve

A HOYA PRO 1 HMC UV is an excellent choice. You can buy these on E-bay from Asian sellers for less than half of what B&H sells them for.

I tend to think a good Circ. Polarizer is a must for any camera bag. I have one for my larger normal lens and use a tiffen step down ring to fit it to my tele.

I wouldn't dare take a daylight picture with clouds in the sky without it.

I use B+W filters, they're easier to clean than Hoya.

circular polarizers are awesome for reducing glare

I haven't really noticed that much of an effect using UV filters, although having just been on a hoya pro1 buying spree... maybe that will soon change

That's not surprising as UV filter are not supposed to eliminate any reflection at all, only to reduce the amount of UV rays reaching the sensor. ;)
