How long before all cameras are banned in public places.

These kinds of things need to be watched for and screamed about, but usually after a little bit of screaming at the overall stupidity in the name of security, the idiots catch on and get the message that this is just a stupid rule to make them feel like they are doing something. ALA New York's little subway photography issue that got resolved recently.

But remember if nobody screams about it, the idiots will think we like what they did.

Unfortunately, while I can complain about NY a bit, I feel wrong complaining about London. Other then to say they are even less likely to get my tourist dollars with this bit of stupidity in the name of security for children.

I personally think all children should be put into arm restraints and locked in a padded cell until they are at least 18, then you can let them out of the restraints until they are an adult. It is the only way to make sure they are protected. So we should do it, right now. [please catch onto the sarcasm here]

Yes, I saw it in the mag. I hoped it was a late April Fool story, it seems so unreal. I really hope it does not go ahead. Longwatcher has got a point about tourists, maybe that is the tack to use, London brings in alot of income from tourism and what tourist foes not carry around a camera.

I believe that Canada have had a similar ruling for some time - I seem to remember that someone posted a thread some months back about this type of issue.

As Longwatcher suggests we need to start shouting but will "Hard Headed, Ken Livingstone" listen!?

As long as you don't look like you're taking spy shots you are in good shape. The more you make yourself apparent, the less suspicion you draw, and then if a parent goes up to you, you can explain to them what you are doing and then offer them pictures(that generally works well).

That's sad.
