Mic suggestions?

I recently bought a Canon 7D and also have a Canon HV-20 videocam. Can't stand the sound recorded on them using the built in mics (picks up everything) and even though I don't use them a lot, when I do, I'd like quality sound too.

The HV-20 pics up every noise, including the click of the zoom button (drives me nuts ;) )

Any suggestions on a mic I could use on both, preferably attach to the hotshoe? Something reasonable in price?
