I know this is prolly not the right forum, but I have an s100 powershot, elph. Now the lcd on the back is cracked, so it no longer is usable. I have a compact flash card that I did a quick format on in windows. Now when I try to take a picture the camera beeps like 5 or 6 times real fast. I dont know what to do. There are no folders or anything on the card, and I know it is still good, cause some of the pics I erased off it before were able to be recovered... So back to the question. What does the 5 or 6 fast beeps mean when I try to take the picture... also maybe I need to make a folder or something on the card so the camera knows the card?! Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps the card needs to be formatted in the camera? I haven't tried formatting a CF card outside of the camera but that's my only guess.

Since your screen is broken, here are the keys to press to reach the format menu option (assuming it's in auto exposure mode):

If your camera's in manual mode, press

Hope this helps.
