No scam,

We use these photos to create 3D models of the landmarks/buildings for creating computer models for a large navigation software.

Feel free to view our list of photos needed, then if any are in your area take a half hour and photograph just one item and see how fast you are paid!!

I am the actual person that screens the photos to make sure we ave everything we need to create our models and independently verify that the photos are of the actual building we need.

Sorry you missed out on that one Hawkeye, but I don't feel too bad for you as I would LOVE to visit Cairo one day. Next time check our list before you depart and hopefully we have photos needed at your next destination.

Folks, check our list of photos needed and you will find we have mini-photo shoots lined up for you on all continents and in many major cities around the globe.

When you are traveling, or preparing to travel check out our updated list and you can reserve the building/landmark of your choice all for the set fee we advertise payable through paypal.

Download our instructions and you can see how simple and quick you can make some extra cash just by taking photos of items you would have already photographed for your own portfolio!!!!!!

find us on the web at: http://www.filmearth.com or see our tweets at http://twitter.com/filmearth

Ok, my scam flags are popping up all over. (Like Brand New member, 3 posts only here in this thread!?)

Few questions.

How do you make money?
Is there any 'cost' to register?
Why do you have to register to see the list of photos needed?

Thanks!

Collier,

1. We use these photos to create 3D models of key landmarks and buildings for a company (who pays us for the models and research info).

2. There is no cost to register and no personal info is required

3. Just like this site, we require our users to register, I will ask about depicting the list before registration but I did not design the site

Feel free to check it out Collier and if you do a shoot for us, let everyone know your experience.

Klienlein,

Please feel free to register and once logged in you can view the list of cities by country and we do have sites open in Edmonton, Regina and Quebec City!

IMPORTANT* read the directions and take a copy with to the site*

Who's the company thats paying you for these models? Al Quida, Taliban, Osama Bin Laden maybe? I wouldn't want my name on any of these pictures.

Hey everyone. Ok, so with the holiday weekend I had an opportunity to shoot a few of these locations and see if this filmearth.com was legit or not. At the end of the day I figured that even if I got burned by them that I would still have some good personal shots so I was curious to see if this was to good to be true...well, I have everything zipped, uploaded and sent...24hrs later, still waiting for any type of response...I will update the thread should anything become of this filmearth.com but at this point, nothing positive to say...Cheers.

No offense and no worries. I was simply posting so that people would beware. Another day and yet, no response. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is! Cheers.

Locky,

This is for an international navigation software company, no evil genius plots/plans here. Plus, feel free to view our lists of landmarks, we have everything from zoos to museums to monuments, most of which are not a national security risk....lol

Mood,

I have sent a response to your inbox here with my direct email, I will check on the status of your photos. Feel free to contact me (my email is included as the "help" on the site) at any time for this or other locations and you will find that you are paid quickly for a pretty easy photo shoot!:D

There are allot of "we's" in this message. :???:

I just checked the site again, there are only 4 - $100 buildings, they are all in germany. Most of the rest are $25 or $5.
I thought this might be some extra spending money, however it looks like more time & effort than I expected for the renumeration offered.

I will keep watching... kk

OK, so I understand that I am new to this forum and not much I say will cure any skepticism but I was paid by filmearth.com. The only reason I found this forum was to get some answers about them because I had never them. Payment took about 5 days. Customer service was great once I figured out how to reach them. Western Union payment, all is good. I have no affiliation with these folks but I will work with them again should I be in any of the areas they need. Cheers - Jay

Thanks for the post Mood, your photos were great and we usually pay much faster but this shoot was completed on the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. As a user that has successfully completed sites for us, we will keep you in mind for all upcoming sites in your area.

I post ads in cities where I need photos, and just like everyone Mood was skeptical so he Googled our name and found a thread here (exactly what I intended). This form of advertising is free and from the response I have got, very effective (Thank You photography-on-the.net/forum).

We had, in the past, contacted photographers through ads and had them upload the photos to an FTP site, which you can imagine is painfully slow, so we came up with the Filmearth.com website to instruct, assign and upload the photos all by itself which is way more efficient.

57hardtop, nothing choreographed, I am in Miami and Moodone is halfway across the country. If I were to post a bogus review I would have said I was paid immediately and not anything about waiting for a payment...lol

Also if this were an extremist operation it wouldn't be a good one as I have placed ads everywhere anyone could see online.....lol If this where anything other than legit, we would have been shut down weeks/months ago so get real.

Everyone online is a skeptic, you have to be with all of the scams plots and schemes out there. I tell this to any user concerned about payment, feel free to photograph just one of the several sites on our list, wait to be paid on that one and once paid you can reserve more sites with a better level of comfort.

To anyone concerned about extremist activity, please realize that there is no way it would be so publicized and we would surely not operate out of the US.

Update, we are processing all of the 4th Quarter photos now as they are coming in 20 per day so our list is getting smaller. We will update the list soon and be adding locations all over the globe so check our site regularly for an assignment near you!

Panda,

We pay your choice via Western Union/Paypal/Check/Wire Transfer.

Both our users and us prefer Paypal as it is quicker with less personal information exchanged.

Please check out the home page of our site and it answers many questions about the process, what we use the photos for, reviews of our users, instructions of the simple views that we require, what size images we need, etc.

**Please see the attached image depicting all of the FAQs that have been asked here.

Filmearth.com needs landmarks photographed in Argentina and Colombia and will pay $10.00-$25.00 per building once the full resolution
photos are uploaded. Also, we provide an additional $5.00 if you do a 2 minute search for the building's architect and provide us the link (yet another cool aspect of these projects, you get to learn about the history of your reserved building).

Some of our listings there are reserved right now, but there are still more than 50 left so please reserve if you are in the area!

In closing it goes without saying that seasoned professional photographers would not find this service profitable with all of their equipment and overhead, but for those of you out there starting out, or photograph as a hobby it is a great service that puts real dollars (IN MOST CASES TAX FREE) in your pocket for very low overhead.

Those using this thread to conduct an off topic discussion please re-read the Market forums rules of posting.

POTN does not support, endorse, or know the poster of this thread.
POTN also do not have any reason to allow the accusation of wrong doing without evidence to support it, nor do we allow Price Policing in the marketplace.

Just like a camera for sale, if you do not think what is being offered is a bargain, move on.

Hi,

Does anyone got paid recently for this activity ?
I have reserved few places to take pictures in Australia, planned to do it today.
However, I got few questions how it has to be taken.
E-mail has been sent as stated in instructions provided on site.
But no reply in last 15 hours.

I'm in doubts... :-(
