Dont know about them, but how come one can offer you a discount of 400USD? IF so, then they were never worth of 598USD price tag, not even 199$. Buy something good.

Aprt from this, 160Ws is very low power strobe.

Isn't this a 600Watt Strobe + 120 WS Strobe plus carrying case and stand , wireless controller?

does it not worth $199?

Looks to be one 120 ws strobe and one 600 ws strobe with both having adjustable power output. Based on the ad it also comes with two decent looking light stands and a case that alone is probably worth near 80 bucks or more. Not to keen on that fact that it says the modeling lights need to be turned off every fifteen minutes, I guess you could just leave em out if it's going to be a PITA to use them. I would be concerned about replaceable flash heads, how much they cost and where can you get them. I couldn't find any reviews on the dynaphos brand either.

Personally I was thinking of getting the flashpoint 160/ws (slightly more power than a set of speedlights for a fraction of the cost) set from adorama.

Correction on the rolling case.... seems I can't find one for less than about 180 bucks so the case alone (if it is a decent one as described) in that Amvona kit is worth dang near the price of what they are selling the whole kit and caboodle for. You could think of it as buying the case for 200 and getting the other stuff for free lol.

yes I ordered 1, just for the stand, umbrella, and case I guess, give it a try . shipping is free! Now they are selling just the 600watt light for $153

The price is so cheap , way cheaper than my Chimera setup . I need a case with roller anyways , also extra stands. LOL

I don't see any mention of a 120ws stobe...only one 600ws strobe (and all the other goodies)...and it shows as $153. No matter how you slice it, $153 for a 600ws strobe and all those extras is pretty sweet...unless it breaks ;)

Yeah, I am thinking about it for the case.... I just found one on ebay for about 150 with shipping and it doesn't look anywhere near as good as that one.

Let us know how it works out when you get it, also how easy is it to get replacement flash bulbs and how much they cost (you may want to order a couple extra just in case, I would like to have at least one set of spares).

I found that the bulbs are from China, there are tons supplier at alibaba that sells that, they are less than $10 each

yah these are limited quantities deal for 1 day usually less than an hr which sold out . I ordered the Carbon Fiber Tripod leg for $69 . It arrived in 7days, came out quite nice. tho I already have gitzo, these can be used for mounting my video slider. I wasn't sure about buying electronic stuff earlier from them, but will give it a try.

Damn that kit sold fast lol. Guess I will have to wait for it to roll around again if I don't get the budget set from adorama.... though that 600ws strobe for 153 with case and stand is worth it for the case alone. If the bulbs were interchangeable I would get that kit and a budget strobe from adorama lol.

yes the 153 one is quite good, I was thinking of cancelling my original order and get this one , cheaper! I don't need that 120 WS strobe .

I wish they would sell a kit with two 600ws strobe. They sell that strobe for about 200 bucks by itself. For that price you could get two of the 600ws kits by themselves and sell the extra case on ebay for about 150 bucks lol.

As far as canceling and getting the single strobe kit... I wouldn't. Since you already purchased it you are getting an extra stand, strobe, and umbrella for fifty bucks. Even as a backup spare it's worth it.. that adorama budget 160/ws strobe is 60 bucks, and that is without a stand and umbrella.

I'll just speak of my experience and not comment on the kit.

This is only my personal experience and I do know that others have been happy with products purchased from Amvona but my one experience with them showed me that the products were inferior, build quality is not great, materials are crappy at times, and customer service can be a nightmare.

I got something very simple from them... a light stand with a boom. I determined the quality sucked before even mounting a light or modifier. The wheels were garbage and the mount was terrible, the aluminum risers weren't even strong enough to support the boom correctly, the mechanics on the risers were plastic and would easily crack when tightened..... well, you get the idea. I didn't like the product at all.

When it came to customer service and what I thought would be an easy return I was told that I had to pay to ship it back. Finally, after letting them no in very certain terms that they sold me crap they changed their tune and agreed to pay the return shipping.

Needless to say I never bought another product from Amvona.

As I said at the beginning of this post, I know there are other will different and more positive experiences but for me all it takes is one little nightmare and I'm a goner.

My purchase was probably about 1 year ago, perhaps longer. I'm not saying they don't have excellent products. I can only speak about the one item I ordered and it was so disappointing that I just can't bring myself to order again.

I'm not sure you should be worried, considering how many satisfied customers there are compared to those with experiences like mine.

I would just be very careful and make sure you know exactly how the return/refund policy works in the event that you have a problem.

If I were looking at entry level strobes I would stay away from Amvona and just go with the calumet Genesis lights and kits, which are on sale now.

Amvona always puts a BS "Retail Value" on their stuff to make it sound like you're getting an awesome deal when you're actually just paying what the stuff is worth in the first place. Some of their stuff is decent...it's just not as good as the brands that actually cost what they're saying their own stuff is worth.

It's like saying "this generic remote is worth {insert price of OEM remote} but we're offering it to you for {insert price of generic ebay knockoff}!"

honestly if this deal wasn't free shipping , I wouldn't even consider, cus it would cost so much to ship.

I really can't answer that....but just the design of the head seems like it is quality. I read all of the feedback on it on the site, and it got decent reviews.
