I'm trying to get the hang of CS2 and I was wondering if anyone knew if when I'm in smart object, does that mean that I can do all my editing without loss of quality, like in raw. Another thing I don't get is what image ready mode does different than regular CS2 mode. Sorry if they are stupid questions, but I don't have a book yet. Thanks for your help. Clay

Smart Objects is imported illustrations from Illustrator that does not "flatten" and becomes pixelated. You can scale it without any quality loss, within Photoshop.

Here's a good link with a QuickTime video to describe it: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/pop_smart.html

Doesn't CS2 come with a book?
