I took these at Belfast Zoo on Monday, but have been unable to ID them. The signs in the Zoo were generally good, except for the birds. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the last one might be a White Crested Turaco, but I am not sure.

The first one is a Bali Starling. This starling is also sometimes called Rothschild’s mynah and is one of the most endangered birds in the world. It is thought there are only 19 birds left wild on the island of Bali. Not sure about the other two.

Very colorful.

One thing for certain...

Those birds are not of the same brood, are they?

We recently went to a National Trust property called Waddesdon Manor,an incredible stately home which was built by Baron Rothschild.
now just guess what type of birds are in the aviary ? Yep you got it " Rothschild's Mynah birds"
now those birds are impressive but the actual aviary is something else, take a look.

That's some aviary Huckaback Photo. Thanx Leorooster.

It looks like I will have to visit the library for the ID on the other two.

The last one sure needs a diet, his head is to small for his body! ;)

Very nice, No idea what they are though.

just a thought , I just looked at the belfast Zoo website, there is nothing there to help ID the birds.
Why not email some pics to them . sure they would identify for you, there is contact details on there site.

Great shots by the way, well done
Cheers

The last is definitely a turaco of some sort. I used to have a Red Crested Turaco as a pet. He was one of many "second hand" pets I cared for briefly after owners tired of their novelty. They make fine aviary pets, often "warming" up to people. We loved ours, but he needed more space than we could provide.

Based on what JF was saying about #3, I found this pic of a Violet turaco (Musophaga violacea) here:

Looks a lot like #2.

#3 looks like a white-crested turaco (Tauraco leucolophus):

Huckaback Photo: I emailed the zoo Monday night, no reply, though I guess they may not have got it with picture attachments.

Tupe: Many thanx, that's them all ID'd, many thanx.

I have one more that I forgo to post, hopefully some one will recognise the moustache!
