I am looking at the Ewa-Marine Rain Cape (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=367701&is=REG). Does anyone have any experience with it?

I have used them for camera protection in paintball photography. I find that they are not very durable. The Seams tend to tear open after a while. I have had much better luck with the Kata rain capes. (www.kata-bags.com)
Here is a picture of how I used to use the Ewa Rain cap, my hands seemed to stretch out the back of the cape and the seams always started opening up. The Kata Rain capes are absolutely bomb proof

Thanks for the tip!! I was going to go to the local paintball field next weekend to shoot and was wondering if anyone has used one of these covers for that type of shooting! Have you had any problems with any direct hits and does the cover protect your camera enough?
At the field here I believe they chrono at about 290fps, but you know if someone is using CO2 on a hot day that can change during the game. I know the compressed air won't be too bad, but some players notch it up a bit after their chrono.

Greetings toyguru,
Most of the Derder guys use the Kata Bags for their video cameras. Miguel Cruz uses nothing on his cameras and Michael Neveux (Splat Magazine) uses a cover made out of wet suit material to cover the camera body and nothing on the lens.
So for I have only had one camera damaged it was my old 10D. I had a paintball graze the back of my neck from behind and go in to the Kata Bag and strike and burst in the edge of the LCD screen on the back of the camera body. I sent it back to Canon for a "warranty repair". They e-mailed me back that they would have to charge to replace the entire LCD and they wanted to know what the viscous yellow liquid was and how it was able to penetrate so far in to the camera. I told them that I did not have a clue how such a thing could happen <g> ...they still charged me
I have some of my pictures in the sports section of this message board or check out www.paintballphotography.com
