i feel silly asking, but i need to know why the instructions for my stofen omni say "never shoot straight on with the omni-bounce attached."
ok, why is that?
does it cause harm to the flash unit?
i'm shooting with a 580EX.

Shooting straight on with the Omnibounce won't damge your flash. It just isn't very effective. It just reduces the intensity of your flash but doesn't diffuse it very well.

thanks..........after getting it today i shot some tests and see what you were just talking about. the straight on shots actually looked better than the flash without the omni. don't laugh, but i did all this and then thought "hey, i wonder if there are any worthwhile tips that came with this thing, and then proceeded to read the instruction sheet"..LOL
i can be such a moron at times.
thx for putting my fears to rest.
