View Full Version : Birds at work--are these orioles?

Had my camera at work the other day, and spotted these in the plum trees outside. These were shot indoors, going through a tinted window (which is in sore need of a good washing).

I'm not sure what kind of bird these are, but one of my co-workers thinks they might be a type of oriole...

This one was snacking on one of the plums...

John, the first one is clearly a Bullock's Oriole, Icterus bullockii.

They are common to the West Coast at this season.

Great shots! The frames really set it off as well.

Thanks for the comments!

These pics were taken on the second floor of our building. These shots were straight out into the trees. And with the window tinting, the birds didn't even know what was going on inside.

Pity I didn't have my camera with me earlier that day...there were a couple of young orioles in hiding in the upper branches and were being fed bugs by the older ones..

Here's one more...

Great shots, I would not know they were taken thru glass. I love the first one.
