Hi

I am new to RAW processing, just recently, as a happy owner of G6 started to dig to that subject. And it appeard that my photoshop 6.0.1 and PainShopPro 6 too old to work with that kind of files!
With ACDSee 7 I can open, edit and preview RAW images with no problem, but with others - no.
Question:

If there other way, to intall some plugin for that verion of Photoshop (tried to find it in interned, for this particular version, failed)

I know, that the quicker way - to have newest software installed, but there is additional cost involved which I try to avoid.

Thank you

Download RSE from Pixmantec and use it to convert to 8 bit TIFF for editing in PS. RSE is free and is one of the best RAW converters around. It can be set to automatically open PS when the RAW is converted.

However to my knowledge that is the only way.

Or You can try Rawshooter Essentials which is free. (Can't remember the link but use the search function and You can find lots of information here).

Thank you, but another question.
How ACDSee doing this? I did not noticed any conversion process, I just opened it and edited what I want and after that, I could decide which format to convert.
It looks like working with RAW images directly?

Maybe it's reading the associated jpg file? Just guessing. Here's a link to RSE at the bottom:

Yes, ACDSee 7 will open and convert RAW. Not the best solution, but it does work.
