F#@K Night football ... it should be banned in NJ ... I Love daylight!!

I switched to Lightroom 3.0 Beta and apparently when I "save for web," I lose the EXIF ...

I am a huge fan of the endzone sitting spot!

ruled incomplete. From my angle you see the toe will hit 1st, but from the ref's view and sidelines it looks like his knee hits OOB 1st. Live action it's a 50-50 call.

Nice shots Vin. What teams were these? I hope they didn't lose the game because of that call!

Very nice Vinny. Nice to get out in the light once in awhile.

ONCE - Just once - why you ask? Because the NJSIAA (our governing body of HS Sports) put our State Final at 5:00 pm at Giants Stadium on THURSDAY Dec 3rd.

Simply assigned us the worst time slot and Day. So guess what? Back to the flash ... although the lights at Giants Stadium are pretty darn good.

This was Summit-Madison (north 2, group 2) Great game. Madison played awesome Defense in the 2nd and could have won it on the final play of the game. But, Summit should have been up 28-0 in the 1st half, but had a fumble gong in and a 4 play goal line stance by madison just before half.

I can say that calls were rough all weekend (from what I hear). These guys let a lot go. They really did not call much holding, and a bunch of late hits.

But from the end zone-cam video, the ref made the correct call, from my side, I saw TD. 50-50 call i'd say.

So it looks like, with so much hockey the 1st week of december, summit-orange will be my only state final.

Where will you be?

Good work
Sure is nice shoot with enough light to see the players faces in the helmets.
I once used a 600mm mirror lens from the end zone, in the only day game I shot, what a hoot that was.

Friday night I will be at The College of NJ for the Central Group II Final. Two Shore Conference Teams, Manasquan vs. Matawan. Squan is seeking their 12th sectional title. Saturday afternoon, I'll be back at TCNJ for a 3PM kickoff for the CJ Group IV Final. Brick Memorial, the defending sectional champ vs. East Brunswick.

We have been told that we cannot sell the images we take. Did you hear this also?

I had an interesting lunch at the stadium yesterday with an NFL referee trainer and an NFL referee supervisor, and I asked about this. They are instructed to not throw a flag unless the infraction materially affects the play, otherwise there would be a flag on every play. They are also instructed to call every personal foul which affects player safety. I guess some are more lenient than others, although the trainer reviews films with each ref.

This is so true and an accurate state of the current game. Unfortunately, I was mentioning non-calls that where directly related to the play. I would never want to be an official. These guys cannot win.

If you look at my photo above, the TD catch, I think it is #2 or 3 (flick is blocked where I am). There was a lot of contact. I was at the end line and the refs were lined up for the E.P. The one said, "that was a lot of contact, I was throwing the flag if the kid did not catch it."

That being said, I 100% agree with you.

As a photog, you see so much holding in your shots. Ironically, one local team (Lenape Valley HS) was the only team this year whose linemen had their hands in and I basically never saw holding in the pic's. I realizedd this while rating them for development. It was pretty cool and classy.

Nice shots! I'm jealous you got to go shoot in daylight, all the games I shot this year were at night and taken in what is apparently the crappiest stadium lighting in the SEC.
