A Good friend of mine had me shoot some maternity for her, it's not really my thing but i obliged as i've known for a long time. She was 8 months in these photo's. She was a real trooper not complaining of being uncomfortable once even though i knew she was. Overall she liked them and i was pretty satisfied. C & C welcome.

great set.
#4 is my favorite
In #1 I'm trying to visualize what it would look like if the hands were in focus rather then the belly. I think it would "say" more. But again I'd have to see them side by side, I may be way off with that...Great work

Thanks for the kind compliments. I think i did have one with just the hands in focus and i didn't really favor it... left you wishing there was more, like you said. #4 was her favorited as well and mine too.

1. nice colors and i think the low key exposure works well as well, what i dont like is his hand in the frame...its very overpowering.

2. I would definately crop the bottom out, bring it right under her hand.

3. I think its silly and fun, but the dark exposure just doesnt work with the expressions, this is one of those shots that should be exposed evenly....other than the exposure issue this is afun and good shot.

4. Is probably my favorite of the set, the B&W conversion is perfect here, the texture of the fabric hugging the belly tight is beautiful, i love the curves of her body, from her breast down to her belly, very sensual yet motherly....you do have some halo-ing effect around the bottom edges.

5 + 6. great use of natural light, seems more like a wedding portrait than maternity, but looks great as well

7. this one doest work for me, a little soft and my eyes cant find a foacal point, too many shadows and the B&W conversion just makes it more difficult for me to focus.

8. great portrait if it wasnt for that huge frame over their heads....love the use of the rule of thirds!

Thanks for taking the time out to critique these K, they are much appreciated. 5+6 were done like a wedding kinda shoot at request of my friend, she wanted something elegant. They are a combination of natural and my 580exII through an apollo softbox camera left.
