Some shots of the calf roping and steer wrestling events at a rodeo last night in Eagle, Idaho - my home town.

I imagine a rodeo would be insanely hard to shoot, being prepared can only get to so ready for the event, position is random, being at the right angle is luck, and at night...ugh, worst lighing ever!

nice work

blinking8s - thanks for the comment and yes - under the lights this would have been a nightmare to try and shoot with my 300D - or really any other camera! I was given feedback on another board - which I agreed with - that I should have shot these more wide open. Blur the background. Wish I could go back in time!

a good rule of thumb, or failsafe plan with almost any fast paced sport is to get as tight as possible and open that aperture up...its all still trial and error though, you will get another chance, and usually those result in improvement.
