Wow!
If anybody ever has had a lawsuit worth pursuing, it's this girl:

Old news, not sure whatever happened to it though so maybe time to look it up and see - last I knew it was filed in FL as she was going after them. BTW, she's a very talented photographer as well!

I did a quick search to see what ever happened with this but didn't find anything. But, she is a fairly popular photographer these days. Her work is pretty good too.

considering the eventual outcome I suspect that there was an out of court settlement, and one which probably included a non disclosure clause.
Now I think that a US District Attorney should be interested in this chain of events, Just what justification could a Adult Film distributor have for using (intentionally or not) the image of a 14 year old girl in there cover art? This question would give the said young lady an awful lot of leverage.

That's probably one of the craziest things I've ever heard of!
I would think that since it's online and can never be fully removed, the damages would be even greater than the days before the internet. That fact should increase her legal standing for greater compensation.

The company could go "bankrupt", dissolve and then start up again under another name/entity.

This jumped out at me...
...received a reply from the company’s owner stating that he doesn’t steal images and that he received the picture from a company with whom he’s been doing business for 25 years.
“Apparently they got it [the picture] from an adult freeshare website,” Lara told us by email. “But they can’t remember the link.”
25 years and they can't remember the link?

People always seem to forget things when it's his or her head on the chopping block.
I wish the best for the girl, it sucks to have your work stolen.

This is also a warning about posting any image on the Internet: Once it's in the cloud, it's effectively out of your control.
