I tried to keep these a bit more on the realisitc side... maybe I should stylize (push) them further?

NO! No no no no no no!!!!! Don't change them. These are GORGEOUS! My city (born there) has never looked so good. Please tell me where you shot from. Looks too far west to be Coit.... I must attempt this on my next trip.

By the way, they should be 1024 max any one dimension for POTN (but I'm glad to see these in large version).

Thanks. These are where I personally felt they should go, as far as pushing them. I welcome feedback though... These were shot from Broadway on a rooftop that I had access to...:D

As for the size... sorry, I'm on a new 27inch iMac... tooo much real estate!!! I'll keep the 1024 in mind.

I see you are linking to Photobucket. I don't know anything about them, but some sites give links that you can use to link them specific sizes. Use a link that give the first size at or under 1024. The mods may make you pull or correct these.

Any chance of access to that roof? Not sure when my next trip will be...sometime next year. I go out every year to check on my Mom in SR.

I agree with my son. If I had access, my 10-22 would get a workout up there!

That first shot is amazing!
I always wanted to take a shot like that. And it has Alcatraz. Its one of my goals to visit that place.

They are great do not change them, most people (including me) overdue HDR your shots are more along the lines of how they should be

Second is outstanding. Glowing city sprinkled with dark patches, dark mountains, sky rim of orange with deepening blue.

I agree, don't change either shot, both shots are very nicely exposed and processed.

My favorite city in the world and you've done it justice. I like the second one.

Nice going, Jeff. Love the location. Just my personal taste, but I'd pull back the orange to drop that artifically lit look on the south side of some of those buildings in the foreground. Maybe selectively to keep some of the other stuff?

awesome awesome shots....I believe you can get a similar shot if you go to the top of twinpeaks..it's a tourist spot and great lookout of city

Here is one more from the "stormy day". HDR can be very revealing...
I couldn't tell there was a rainbow in the single shots that made up this image... only revealed after HDR processing.... this one is still a bit unreal as far as color, but I believe HDR can be used to maximize what would "look" like a traditional shot, but with "value added". It's just hard to dial it back when you see how far it can go....:)

Thanks Gary.... I don't know, but it has been pretty dreary for the last week or so. If not raining, then drizzling... I'm heading to South America for the holidays though... should be able to find Summer there...:)

Yep. Mom has been getting soaked pretty good up in SR. Have a great trip! Hey, when you get back, swing a little to the right and take in that skyline with the TA in it. I'm also a sucker for Sutro. Been up in it, great view, but was really bad air that day.
