took this shot while in Monterey a couple weeks ago. when i looked at it, it turned out more like a snapshot. so i thought i'd get creative and see what happened. i'm sure this will be too dark for some and too overprocessed by others, but all C&C is welcomed!

It has some merit as an image. Poor centering of the birds, over processing, distracting elements, etc. are the standard replies people (experts) will often write. Technically is it a very good image? I’d have to say no but the “rules" and "accepted standards" are so easily broken today; if you like it, or someone else likes it, it's a successful image. Have fun with photography, keep shooting, keep learning, and keep experimenting.

I'd crop down so the seagulls were in the top third of the image. The rest of it sort of works for me because you kept detail in the building & one seagull.

That's funny. I would actually crop it the other way and keep the upper portion of the building and birds; with more of the 'halo' in the image. I don't know if it's technically correct, but it's a fun image to me; I rather enjoy it.
