My neighbor just got a 75-300 USM III for her new XT and she came over with an err99 problem. After playing with the lens on her XT and on both of my 10D's I realized that the err99 is only when the aperture is set smaller than wide open. As long as the aperture is wide open, regardless of the zoom position, the lens produces an image. If the aperture is stopped down even one click, the lens produces err99 on all 3 camera bodies.
Anybody else experience this? A quick fix? I advised her to call B&H back and tell them our conclusions.
thanks,
daniel
