This past Saturday (11/21) I shot my first wedding. The images were shot with a combination of a 5D Mark II and a D300. These are just proof images and haven't had any significant post processing at all. Just trying to get them to the bride in 48 hours (which I miraculously pulled off).

Any C&C is appreciated. I also apologize if the watermark is distracting.

The shadows on #3 are very distracting, and IMO need some sort of flash or better lighting. Also, the pp on #5 doest work for me, the red arms and green bg just dont look flattering.

I like #5. I would maybe notch the red down a little. I can't say the same for the last two though. #7 would be much better to me if you cloned out her shadow and his face shadow. #8, The light was just too harsh.

and 48 hours? you got proofs of all shots in 48 hours? Thats a great effort, but you'll kill yourself if you offer that and attempt to make that habit.

Good first effort. Agree with the above -- ditch #3 totally, don't show it.. very unflattering. The colour cast on 5 is odd and doesn't help. 8 is 3/4 stop over.

1 and 2 are nice conversions.

Yes, #8 can be fixed. The shadows on #7 are an odd personal preference thing. I have some people that like the shadows and others that don't. I personally don't so I will be fixing those. #3 is a candid shot that was taken while they bustled her dress...

Guess I picked the wrong images to show. Pretty much getting universally canned. Mental note: Don't post anything until they're fully completed.

Welcome to the forum, btw.

Any C&C is appreciated.

I tend to take that seriously :)

#3, while candid, is still not flattering at all. Candids can have good light, too, right? The racoon eyes are too much.

No, I meant it seriously. I did need to work on these images more before posting them. I won't make that mistake again. My favorite so far (from another board) is "If I were the client, I'd be pretty pissed". I'm taking the constructive criticism and I know it will help me.

Rather the rehash what has already been said let me add one thing.
#2 Looks blurry to me.
I don't do much photography so maybe this is something new and exciting but it looks as if the picture is streaked or something.
I also want to say I really like the first one, good job.

sarj I think #2 is through glass.

nctrnl - Never post work that has not been edited and ready for presentation to the client. That being said, for me, this means brief lightroom corrections and that is all. If I have to do anything other than color correction/minor corrections in lightroom only - then the image is trash for me 9 times out of 10. OR it was predetermined shot that I knew I would go crazy in photoshop.

Great job for your first wedding, my critique:

1) Not bad, but probably better if left in color

2) Looks like it was shot through glass, would be a great shot if she had a better expression or more interesting subject

3) I don't think there is anyway to save this shot, needed fill flash here camera left If you really want to use it definitely make it high contrast B&W and dodge the eyes

4) Not bad, you'll get better with these types of shots

5) Fun shot but not really worth posting anywhere, maybe put in a tiny section of the album

6) Strange image, doesnt' do much for me

7) LoL? Whats with the shuttleocck

8) Too dark, should have lowered flash output and increased ISO
