Recently my Pixma 4000 does not show a print preview, although the box in the print dialogue is ticked. It just starts printing at once. All other options work fine, just not the preview function. I didn't change any printer settings, nor did I install any obscure or unreliable new programs.
It happens in all applications so far. I reinstalled the driver twice, but no luck.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Because when you say that your "Pixma 4000 does not show a print preview" I'm assuming it has a built in LCD?!?!

 I have the Ip 4000 and I believe I can help you. Cick; Start, Printers and Faxs. Find your Printer: Canon PIXMA iP4000, click right mouse,. Click , Properties. Click the Advanced tab. Click the Printer Default Button. Click the pain that says Preview before printing, Click Apply and OK. Close the program. You should now be able to have a preview before you print.

It sounds like user options over the printer driver, not the printer itself.

Sorry I'm not making myself clear here, I mean the (software) preview function you get when giving the print command in an application, and which can be set in the print dialogue window and in the printer properties settings. When I got and installed the pixma all was working well, but lately there is no way I can get this preview function to work, not from the properties setting, nor from any application. I suspect a software conflict somewhere but was wondering if anybody encountered the same problem.

R Schade solution sounds like the only viable one IF it already hasn't been tried. After that, and you've probably already done it, uninstall & then reinstalling the printer+software should do the trick.

 I believe that might be the only thing you can do also. Uninstall and re-install. You might also want to, after the un-install, Restart your computer and then install the driver/program as some times the program will not work otherwise or at least not correctly. That is if you haven't already done so.
