WAY TO GO !!! Neat, fine choices and I am sure you will enjoy the digital world. Super equipment ! I have used Canon since before digital and I can tell you, you will not be disappointed with your choices ! Digital has devolped rapidly and is way better than film was. (There is a possible period of getting familiar with the new mode, but that will pass if it happens at all.) Just be patient with yourselfs and ask questions and most of all, keep on shooting pictures ! Enjooy...

That is a dirty little secret what I had before.....but it started with a M and ended in an A........It was such a hard decission on which body to go with.....but I choose the 20D after much comparing and asking on this forum........I figured go for glass....rather than the 1DMii and cheaper lenses.

Ha! I had a (very) modest system that started with a M and ended with an A, before I bought a G2 a few years back. That convinced me to eventually switch to Canon. By the way, they don't edit the M.....A like they do NOINK (Ooof!)...;)

Cool. I've got an old Miranda, too. I need to see if it still works. It was my father's old camera.

Do you have a good photo editing program, i.e. Photoshop? If not, that should be the next thing on your list...

That reminds me that my old M.....A and NOINK systems are languishing under the bed along with an old Durst B/W enlarger..... I wonder what they are up to.....;)

Don't fall for the 'soft shots syndrome'!
A lot of people , myself included, were initially disappointed with the results because I had never seen a completely RAW unsharpened photo before, I thought it was too soft, but now I realise all the detail's there, but a litle post processing may be needed - unless you go for one of the in camera options, but I think it's better to shoot RAW :D

Yes, I wonder if he knows about all the post processing that is necessary with dSLRs. Maybe he's in for a big shock!
