Hello All :D

Welcome to G-series Challenge # 251

for this one I am thinking about Clint Eastwood films ,
as in ...a photograph depicting the title of one of the films Clint either directed and acted in.... or both, so long as its one of his

there is a small drawback , nothing to worry about ..too much
(until it happens)
lol
........ if one enters a photo with the title in the subject line and one (meaning you) finds themselves thinking of exactly the same idea regards the same title .... i.e. showing a photo depicting one of the same films ..
its not allowed

http://www.PhotoShare.co.nz/PhotoShareGallery1/100543/104697/05799114.gif

so the race is on

http://www.PhotoShare.co.nz/PhotoShareGallery1/100543/104697/01019050.gif

first come first served (title and photo)

photo, the very best on offer showing identity and meaning which corresponds with the title..... (as best as possible)
well composed.. funny or whatever which you (the photographer) thinks 'matches' well. just the title , not especially what happens in the film
there are a good amount of film (titles) to choose from ,
Google will help there
and .........
hopefully for the challengers ... will bring much enjoyment in the making

http://www.PhotoShare.co.nz/PhotoShareGallery1/100543/104697/00315462.gif

thanks all

Congrats to winners Teekay, CarloY, and PaulB! Thanks, Marie, for hosting and, of course, the requisite judging! Trying to match a photo to a song or movie title is always an interesting journey, and I thought all the entries were well thought out and executed. (Teekays was totally executed:cool:) Kevan...your tongue in cheek humor brought a good laugh here! While I was contemplating the subject for the week, and kicking some ideas around, it finally hit me...my wife and I attended a bicycle rally last summer right in the heart of Madison County, and one of the rides went right past this bridge. I did clone out a few bikers for the purpose of the challenge, but the bridge is authentic. Thanks again, Marie...this was fun!

Nice entries...Clint has always been "da Man' and I love his older films ...great topic Marie. Dirty Harry, the Preacher in "Pale Rider" (nothing like a good piece of hickory)..great immortal stuff.."do you feel lucky, well do ya" luv it all. Clint for President..

Congratulations to the Teekay and CarloY and thanks for 3rd place. I learned a lot about lighting an image like this. Unfortunately most of the ideas came after the photo was taken.

Fun challenge of theme to mind-image to photo. Thanks for constructing and hosting Marie. Congrats to PaulB and winner TK... definitely 'right on'. I think I could drive around using two tanks of gas, and still not find such a fit setting.

Applause and thanks to the many fine captures. Enjoyed seeing the range of ideas. Clint is definitely an icon. Interesting stories on how his career developed.

Congrats to the winners and to the rest of you who made my day…er, week. I hope my little prank didn’t get in the way of someone who had a better shot to offer. I did wait. Marie, fun challenge. I visited the IMDB website and was floored to see how many movies Clint has touched. The guy sure is prolific.

Kudos goes to my wife who tolerates me. She was aghast that I would dare expose our dirt. This would be what we call in the Kevan_G9 family a pug-tumbleweed. Any of you folk considering getting a pug or worse…a pair of pugs, be warned…they shed….mightily. To be honest, this one was a bit more manufactured. I had to dig in the corners and under furniture to find enough fur to make this shot worthy. So to my dearest, I dedicate this photo to her and promise to rededicate the next photo that might be worthy of her love and patience.

congrats to the winners! And thanks for the fun challenge, Marie. I was really stumped after I saw TeeKay's "Hang 'em High" because that was the title I was going to use with my photo :)

Funny, I was aiming at Any Which Way... because it seemed to be the title with the most flexibility. Just as I was gearing up, bang, came your entry. It was time for my consolation entry.

An honour indeed to win this week against such clever and funny competition and thanks, Marie, for the novel theme!

I originally chose "Firefox" as my title and had actually posted a shot of my computer screen showing the Wikipedia entry for the Firefox movie showing in my browser which happens to be also Firefox.

But one minute later I remembered I had a photo of a real gallows - note the thirteen very unlucky steps, wide enough for condemned man and guards to climb abreast. The shot was grossly underexposed, being taken in a dimly lit space with no tripod, hand held and with only the G1's puny flash. I had a job with PSP bringing it up to up entry standard but managed to do it in 10 minutes and quickly deleted my first entry before someone else took the hang-em title - sorry about that, Maureen!

This is a real portable gallows, known as "The Galloping Gallows" housed in a grim old Montana prison, a place full of really bad vibes but great photo material. Here's a web site explaining:

Car, I think if you'd scattered some money around the baby you would have taken this challenge. And I smile every time I look at "Dirty Hairy":)

Oh dear, now I'm stuck with the next theme... Will post later today (Pacific time).

Aah! The G1 triumphs again.... Well done Teekay, and thanks Marie for the brilliant idea for a challenge! I'm slowly getting over my 'disappointment' that my shot of a Toyota Corolla on a quiet suburban roundabout was not seen as Clint's Gran Torino  even with a little imagination! For those interested, the shot has had no post processing. The colour(s) are due solely to the use of a red Hoya filter - a legacy of my days in black and white film photography.
What's it to be, Teekay? :D

Congratulations to winners Teekay, CarloY, and PaulB and thanks Marie for hosting and judging. I knew Mr Eastwood had done some marvelous films but it was only when I googled him I realised how many:shock:

Kevan - classic! Best yet! You have set yourself a new goal to beat that one in future challenges my friend!

'Million Dollar baby'
a beautiful beautiful photograph of the baby Carolyn

Thank you Marie for hosting and judging this fun challenge! Great shot and theme by ALL.

Our images got stepped on and squashed and scraped up with a shovel off the ground easily by the winner Teekay and the runner ups - CarloY and PaulB.

My Mystic River picture was filmed on a river in Laos, country of my birth place. The boat ride was a courtesy trip across the river to a coffee shop in Vang Vieng.
