I LOVE EE and have been using it now for a few months. I have had an infuriating problem though and it's been occurring for the last couple of weeks. What happens is as follows. I upload a photo using (STEP 1 : send photos to server upload folder). This is quick because I have a cable connection and uploads are 512kb with my service. I then proceed to (STEP 2 : select photos from server upload folder) and I highlight the photo I just uploaded. I then highlight the size I want to display the photo at. In my case it's always the original size of the image I am uploading, (STEP 3 : select sizes and where they are going). I then choose (STEP 4 : select target exhibition) the exhibition I want to display it in. Now I am here (STEP 5 : choose extra settings) and I leave everything at that step unchecked with "do not add new categories" is selected in the drop down menu. No problem so far......but.....now the frustrating part kicks in. When I get to Step 6 (STEP 6 : Double check your selections in above form and press 'UPLOAD') and I hit "Upload.....I wait up to two minutes before the process completes after hitting upload. It used to go almost instantly.....but......the past couple of weeks Step 6 has been incredibly slow. What happens when it takes a long time to Upload from Step 6 is that when I view the photo on my web site.......either the micro thumb....or the medium size thumb.....or the full size image does not display. Two out of the three will display but never the three. I end up having to delete the image from the database and then start the entire process over again. I have done it six times in a row before it works right for one image and that takes a long, long time. My web site is at www.tomkaszuba.com Can someone help me to fix this problem.....or point me in the right direction? Thank you very much.

I just tried the Step 6 upload process again. I changed some items below to protect my username and database: Here is the message I got:

Change ftp engine to "internal FTP" in ftp setup editor. That will possibly work better and also give you much better error reporting. Please PM me message results if that gives error, too.

Does the ftp tests with filetests pass ok every time?

WOW!!! Pekka you fixed the problem for me. I made the change you suggested and BOOM!!! it worked like a charm. FTP tests are perfect. Everything works fast now. I am so thankful to you for the quick response and the correct advice. EE is the best......and so is it's developer.
