adverts like that tend to annoy me but this one is doing what it was intended to do - get people talking about it.

For lens updates, I'm guessing VC on the 28-75, which could make a lot of people happy I suppose...
Do they make any other stuff besides lenses?

Indeed, it doesn't really seem like a consumer-driven product though. Certainly not one that would warrant a big unveiling campaign imho...

For the next ~3 hours, I'll consider their "it's not a lens" comment in the same league as Mr. Cleese's "the wing is not on fire" :)

"EOS-1DN, Canon Finally Caved! Now offering the new Nikon F-mount EOS-1DN!"This makes me think of my cousin who just purchased a 7D, his first Canon DSLR (using it for movies, he's a filmmaker on a budget). For this time around, he doesn't have enough money to get two or three quality Canon mount lenses to go with it, so he asked me kind of innocently if he can mount Nikon lenses (that are already available to him) on the 7D, lol. Anyway, he quickly realized it was a pointless (so as to not say "stupid") question, and went looking for converters.

I bet they're merging with Pentax.
In 16 odd days....
They will now be known as "Tampax"

:D I hope they have a sense of humor too

I've always thought Tamron has a sense of humor... (after owning one of their 17-50s) ;)

Actually its not THAT stupid of a question, from watching TV, whenever I see those highspeed camera rigs they're almost always using Nikon lenses [Except for once or twice I caught a Zeiss Makro Planar 100mm f/2, But it might have been the ZF version]

And for film, its not that dumb of one either, a lot of film people ARE using old Nikon MF lenses because of the direct aperture/focus controls and the great quality focus rings :)

Obviously, it can be done via mount adapters, just not directly. And yep, he had been using some Nikon lenses for the films he's made before.

Ah sorry :)
