Well I've finally gotten around to checking out the files I took over Memorial Weekend. This was my first real attempt with any kind of scenery with the 17-40. Quality probably suffers a tad considering I was shooting from a moving boat and handheld. In any case, let me know what you think (I can take it... I think)

Storms were starting to roll in around us

This one has no post processing other than resize and slight sharpening. I want to call it "Dying Light"

First one too dark and too much foreground. Second one much better. Keep posting.

Thanks for the comments. I'll need all the critique and practice I can get before the 14day European Trip 1st of July.

I would crop the second image with an Aspect Ratio of 3 x 2 and take it off the bottom edge of the water which will knock the horizon away from the centre of the image.

The first one is a bit dark, but I still like it as it gives the woods and water an eerie feel. The second one is simply beautiful. :)
