So i am looking to replace our old canon a710. My price range is about $150, but i can shell out a little more or spend a little less....

She loved the A710 but unfortunately, it was not waterproof... (our nephew dipped it in the sink).

I would like to use it as well when i dont feel like carrying my XSI, but i just wanted to have a few cameras or types of cameras to look at.

She likes the sleeker and smaller forms of the cameras and thats why we didnt get the g7 when we were camera shopping lol.

anyways, i looked at the sx200 and wanted to get her that, but it was kind of a lot.

If you want controls for you, you're probably going to miss the price point for her. If you looked at the SX200, you might consider the SX110 or SX120. None of the A-series offer more than full automation any more, which leaves you with the SD990 and the various S- SX- and G- models.

BandH is selling off a bunch of Canon SX-110 refurbs (done by Canon) that are an excellent buy. Delivered mine was $173, and it is a great little camera.

Have a great day and a happy Thanksgiving.

How is the canon SD780? It has 1280x720 recording, my mom needs a new camera and that one seems pretty good.
