web servers/hosts for website

i have been building a website on chillydomains and discovered, after many hours work, that it cannot handle many pictures of any decent size:rolleyes:
is there a company/host you would suggest that can offer unlimited webspace for larger pics with decent resolution?

Looking for "unlimited space" might disallow a whole lot of very good web hosts from your list. "Unlimited" means the company has no qualms about claiming, and selling to you, the possibility of infinite storage, which of course is impossible. Much better, IMO, to come up with a reasonable figure for your storage needs, and then look for a good host that can supply that.

i ran out of storage at 54 large pics- they were thumbnailed and click links to enlarge...it wasn't much at all....

I've been using www.hostgator.com for a long time. They've proven themselves to be very reliable, the support has been first class and they are reasonably priced.

I have been using DreamHost since 2004, and would recommend them to anyone and everyone. They are the only hosting company out there that is upfront about their usage policies and they will accept any amount of images you have. I am using over 100 gigs of storage with them, and I have had no complaints so far.

They also offer amazing discounts for your first year.

No limit on size, and you can customize your web site however you want to...and remove all there branding, and add yours...the only branding they have is in the shopping cart. Service is top notch!!!!!!!!

Just another suggestion.
I use a service call squarespace. I have my main site (Idaho Memories) (http://www.idahomemories.com) on SS and I link to my galleries on Smugmug.

SquareSpace offer a lot of flexibility and no additional software is requried.
