Hi everyone!

I have tried looking for information everywhere about something that is occuring to my camera, but i havent found much information.

The deal is that there is a white pixel on my 20d that if i take a picture horizontally and zoom in the white pixel is there (even if it's a person I took a picture of) ...and if i take another picture the white pixel will still be there.

I'm not too sure what's going on, I don't know if it's a dead pixel or what. I only have 4,800 taken with my 20d  Most the times the pixel looks white and sometimes grayish. It appears on the same spot always horizontally and vertically, I just don't know if it's a dead pixel or a dust spot

I really do hope that someone can help me out here !!!

Thanks!

Michelle

welcome to the forum, michelle.

unfortunately, it does look like a dead pixel. a dust speck on the sensor would have shown up as a blurry dot. furthermore a dust speck would not have shown up so clearly at f4.5 in the second photos.

if your camera is still under warranty, you might want to have canon take a look at it. otherwise the spot can be easily cloned out in PS.

i would think all 20d's are still in warranty as they have not been out for a year yet.

How long does is usally take for canon to take care of something like that? And also, I don't think I sent my warranty card in, may that be a problem???

Thanks u guys for the help!

You weren't supposed to send the card in. You keep it and send it in with your camera and sales reciept if something ever goes wrong with it..
