The first picture was taken with a point-and-shoot Sony camera before I got my Canon Rebel. Any comments or suggestions for improvement?

#1 - "Busy as a Bee" notwithstanding, this image is a little too busy.
#2 - looks like a good idea but it is over-exposed and too centered and has insufficient depth of focus.
#3 - also over-exposed and too centered.

Look into the rules of composition (they're not really rules but rather compelling suggestions).
