I need to remove the Wasia Hack from my EOS 300D/Digital Rebel: I have got as far as being able to scroll through and highlight the Custom Function numbers described in the recent post by drisley ( I have tried all the cross-keys buttons) but just CAN'T find a way of changing them.

I am selling this camera and will have to mail it on Monday - I'll be very grateful for help here please.

Many thanks in anticipation.

From what I have read you install the updated firmware (http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/eosdigital/E3kr_firmware-e.html) and it overwrites the hacked firmware.

No, you need to reset all custom functions to the origionals and then reflash the cam. There is a load of stuff on the net about this if you google it, BUT YOU MUST RESET CUSTOM FN FIRST.

See why I hate hacks. Sooner or later they are going to give you problems, in a way or another. And there's nobody to complain with.

Rob - what is described above is not a "problem" per se - as there is a very simple way to revert back to the original firmware - you just have to follow certain steps like anything else that you do. No problem.

The Waisa hack is anything but problematic...........I'll keep my FEC thank you very much! :-)
