Some Plants

The first is some type of flower - no idea what type....any flower experts ?. The sceond is a jacaranda leaf at close range :-)
Both with EOS300D + Kit Lens

Sorry can't help with the ID. I love the way the flowers in the first picture are contrasted with the dark background, they just leap out at the viewer. I would have thought the second was from a fern if you hadn't explained it. Wonderful photos.

It could well be, I didn't take any notice of the rest of the plant, Guess I'll have to wait until it flowers again (so I can sort it out from all the other plants - I'm really botanically challenged :-) ) and then I will let you know.
