Hi,
I've still got my trusty G2, and it's in good nick. I even brought it to work the other day as a 'light weight' alternative to lugging my SLR (needed to take some product pics). After messing around with it, experiencing the shutter lag etc. I've just about had enough of it.
Rather than having it just lie around collecting dust am considering one of two options:
1) Sell it
2) Convert to Infra Red
Though I have a feeling after I convert it (and if i don't break it while doing so) I'm going to end up not using it anyway...!
What do you guys reckon, convert it or just sell it? and what sort of price do you think I can get for this at my local used camera store? I'm thinking I'll be lucky to get 30 US bucks for it.
Thanks for any thoughts,
dom

another vote for an IR mod. be warned though - once you get the hang of it you'll be wanting to rip the hot-filter out of your dslr...

I'm in the same boat. G2 and G6 and two kids to hand it over to. But an IR camera would be nice in the bag. How do you modify either to go IR???

Any instructions for G2?
edit: Saw instruction for G2 - requires glass cutting. Screwdriver sure, glass cutting I don't think so! Anyone do this as a service?

Glass cutting. I can screw and unscrew a screw. But I can't cut a piece of glass. :)

I found that when doing my 10D mod - can't cut glass straight to save myself. Took the second one to a local glazier who did a much better job, but still managed to get a few little dings & scratches on it.
Next project for me is a 1D Mk II...
