I have a new 20D camera and I have been reading the manual and learning how to set it up and use different settinggs etc etc........I put set color temperture to K then realized I have no idea what I have just done LOL!
What should I put this on for a default setting?

white balance is there to provide a correct white colour under different lighting conditions

If you don't have any other number to use, start with 5200 K for daylight.

WOW! Two really thorough references. The "pictureflow" tutorial, while clearly a sales tool, contains excellent explanations that should come in handy for any photographer.

provide a correct white colour under different lighting conditions Keep in mind that, if you're shooting a sunset, an 'incorrest' daylight WB will give you warmer colors. ;-)

IF you increse the temp up from 5200k it warms the image, i set 5800k for my flash units but they all verie as do people's tastes
