Must be a RAW conversion problem.
I use my XT with PSCS2 without problems. You just have to get the latest RAW converter and you can load them directly in to PS.

Change your option to shoot RAW+JPG to make sure the JPG is OK.

PS 7 does not have RAW support. You will need to either upgrade to CS or CS2 or get a third party solution like RAWShooter Essentials, which is free by the way. RSE works pretty good.

Jason's right. Download RAWShooter Essentials and use that to open your RAW files. You can then make your adjustments before exporting the image as a 16 bit TIFF which you will be able to open in PS7. Some functions are not available in PS7 when working in 16 bit mode so you may want to switch down to 8 bit mode once you have done your levels and saturation tweaks etc.

Have a play about, you'll soon learn to love RAW!!! :D

CS2 or Elements 3 will work with XT RAW. CS won't. The ACR 3.1 plugin is needed and will ONLY work on CS2 and PSE3.

The included DNG program works on it's own. I've never heard of anyone using it for whatever that's worth.

Yeah, I forgot that XT RAWs only work directly with Elements 3 and CS2. But you can always use the Adobe DNG converter and convert the CR2s to DNG and open just as normal in CS.
