Their rules are not tough... they are PLAIN STUPID. It is VERY easy to get a mediocre shot in the site, while it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get a great one in as long as you are not AirTeamImages or a screener's friend.
I got 100+ so-so shots in the site with a Nikon Coolpix 5600... I wouldn't call that tough! And I had 70%+ acceptance ratio. If you have a DSLR is very easy.
If you want any pre-screening advice, feel free to PM me.

That's WAY UNFAIR! I hate you! Hahaha it took me 100+ shots for such a milestone!
And besides, you kicked a friend's photo from the home page! Hahahaha

I thought i recognized that tail insignia Fighter Squadron (VF) 31 "Tomcatters" is the second oldest fighter squadron operating in the U.S. Navy today, I was in that fighter squadron in 66/69 ATN2, on the USS Saratoga CVA60

Amazing picture. I am curious how you go about getting the lightning in a picture? I can never get timing like that!!

That was the next to last Tomcat to be built in Calverton, and the last one to fly. Nice photo.

Photoshop..... Just joking! Watching the weather for a few years and when you see a storm cell, figure out what you can use as a subject to make it a backround as the cell passes. I have others but not as powerful as the shot uploaded. Here is one more

Awesome Image. I checked out your website. Question for ya.
Is the image of the Cat, with the snow, and the symmetric angles, as shot or a crop? What is the tie-in, between Farmingdale & the last Tomcat, being built?

I just saw your shot used in a banner on this site http://nycaviation.com/2008/02/airlinersnet-crash-and-burn/
Did you authorize it? If not you might want to have a word
Nice shot too BTW
