Finnally won a EF 100-300mm F4.5-5.6 on Ebay. Had to try it out so just pointed out of the back door and got some sparrows having a bath. cropped and resized for posting as they were 20ft away. Superb lens a lot sharper than my kit lens wide open @300mm, very good stopped to F8

@300mm
iso 800 (tea time)
Canon 350D
Cannot wait for next track day to test the focus speed.

Congrats on the lens Rob. That's not what they call a "baited" field is it? :lol:

Could be, could be. it was just after tea, my 6 year old daughter and her friend had shaped sandwiches so the crusts went outside. We get lots of birds in garden since the cats went, Sparrows, Blue Tits, and lots of Blackbird pairs. nice to see but we can't hang the washing out anymore.

May get a duck picture or two tommorow if i can drag her out of the house for a walk down by the river.
