I find the light flat. The image doesn't do much for me, but I'd encourage you to keep trying with different light and compositions.

I saw your pics last night..I didn't comment because I don't have the expertise to. I think that happens a lot on this forum. :)

Your picture has a nice bokeh. I like the subject, but it's a bit closely cropped. It's also underdeveloped - lots of space at the right of the histogram. Not enough light down front - hard to get all the color to come out without blowing out the whites on top.

Thank you for your sincere comments. I had just purchased this Macro flash and at the time was experimenting with the settings. It turned out darker as I think I just tried the little lights on either side of the flash lamps and just used that when I snapped the photo. I know I need to get the hang of this. I appreciate all your inputs. Diane
