Im trying to expand from family/friends and this was a session I got booked from a friends previous session. Please give me all the CC you want! These were shot with my S5, one light/umbrella and my on camera flash (batteries in my 430 EX died :(). Her mom mostly wanted a few to use in Christmas cards...hopefully these are good enough for that!

There all very well done however but lack the sense of depth that having a little back/rim lighting would have given.
She's a lovely little girl but she looks cut n pasted over every black background with the darkest parts of her hair and her shoes vanishing into the void.
If I had to go with one, it would be #3 but I'd probaby want to try and photoshop in some kind of background. Tree with presents, fireplace, something...

Thanks for the quick reply! I have paint shop and I'm really not that good at it so I wouldn't even know where to start with photoshopping something in. I agree about her disappearing though. I wish my flash batteries had not died, then I could have thrown more light on to her. At least I learned a lesson...I will probably never forget to charge batteries again

Even if you're using Enloops or other rechargeable AAs, I'd suggest you always keep an eight pack of store-boughts handy just in case. ;)

I agree you need separation from the background

Why would you repeat what has been already said in a previous post?

To stress the point more.
