Just got a G9. Question of writting to card.

Just got a 2nd hard G9 and am happy. Compared to my 40D, the speed of saving RAW files to the memory card is very slow.

Is this a known issue or do I need to buy a faster memory card?

get the faster memory card. I have no issues when it comes to taking photos in RAW + JPEG. Im using san disk ultra and extreme SD cards.

Yes. I was just pointing to CF poss. advantage for the DSLR.

agreed - the cards can make quite a difference. If i stick an old card in my camera I sure notice it chug along.
