Hi guy's/Gal's!! New to the forum and this is my first post. I just purchased a Canon 20-D with kit lens 18-55mm. I also received three additional lenses with the same package. These lenses are, Canon EFS 60mm macro, Sigma 70-300mm and Sigma 18-50mm lens. I have just jumped into the SLR field and have been mostly using a point & shoot camera. Question! Are any of these good lenses or should I imediatley upgrade? I shoot a lot of macro photo's so that's why I chose the 60mm but I have been reading some posts that suggest that I might have been better off with the 100mm. Any imput at this point would make my day!! Thanks in advance. Great forum by the way!!:D I know I will learn a bunch hanging around here!!

Welcome to POTN! Why not check out what you got and see how it fills the bill? Shoot a ton and it will become clear quite quickly what you want to exchange.

Not sure why you have the Sigma 18-50 when you have the Canon 18-55, so I'd sell the Sigma right out of the box, but yes, you need to shoot and develop a style before you go pumping a bunch of money into glass.
Welcome to the dSLR world and the forum. :)

I was thinking about that too! The seller just through in the Sig 18-50mm I guess to make me feel like I was getting somthing extra. Oh well! It will be the first one to go. Thanks!!

Hi welcome. How did the seller just throw in a lens? Free? If so who is this seller? I'd like to know. :p

Well, just make sure it isn't the Sigma 18-50 f2.8, if it is, do NOT sell it I'd say :)
I've been reading about the Canon EF-S 60 mm macro, and the problem with it is that it has a shorter working distance, but the difference isn't that big compared to the 100mm. Also, you gain some "workability" by it's lighter weight and smaller size. So stick to the 60mm for now, if you feel the need for more working distance, get the 100mm as well ;)
