Grandparents

Hello all,

This is my first time posting in this section(though I haven't posted much anyway) I've read, looked etc lots the past few weeks. I had to take family pictures for thanksgiving. There were 15 of us. I wasn going to shoot outside, but it rained. grrr. So I was stuck in the house. Joyous. This was also my first "photo shoot" for portraits.
Anyway. My family pics didn't turn out to horrible. But I really like this picture of my Grandparents. I had an issue with lights(i have some simple "studio lights") My aunt was taking pics of them while I shooting and he flash kept setting off my flashes. I learned an important lesson: when doing "serious" shoots, I'm the ONLY photographer.
Anyway, I'd love to hear thoughts, opinions, what I can do better. I'm doing a photoshoot with my uncle and his family(he's got two kids: 1yr & 3yr) in a week, so I'd LOVE some tips. [:

What a great connection between the two that you captured! The cropping of their arms and shoulders makes it a bit awkward to me. I might boost the contrast up a bit and brighten their skin tones, too.

I understand about the arms. Since they aren't the thinnest people in the world, they don't like "full" body shots. :]
