Hi everyone,

I have been looking all over the internet for information about this particular model of Gitzo Tripod.

The GT2531LW model was found while looking on Ebay, here is the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Gitzo-GT2531-CarbonFiber-Tripod-GT2531LW-LegWarmer_W0QQitemZ280397747005QQcmdZViewItemQQptZ LH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414902133d

Now my questions are, is this an official model in the Gitzo range (Gitzo factory installed leg warmer) and is the leg warmer easily removable? I have already looked on the Gitzo website to no avail.

Has anyone purchased this particular model? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Bump.

Here is an image of the GT2531LW Mountaineer tripod.. Perhaps this will get me some answers...

I find it particularly odd (and suspicious) that all references I've come across doing a Google search on the GT2531LW seem to either originate from Korea or is sold via eBay.

I'd shy away from that tripod unless you can confirm with Gitzo that it's the real McCoy.

I do hope it is the real McCoy as I have already ordered one. I went by the excellent feedback the seller has.

I did in fact email Gitzo regarding the product but have yet to receive a response.

If anyone has bought from this particular seller any information would be appreciated.

I can tell you that my standard GT2531 did not come with leg warmers. Not sure about the LW version.

Hi everyone I am pleased to report I have found the answer to my questions.

The link below is an online Korean store that directly links from the Gitzo Korea's website, it shows the variation of tripod mentioned in the thread:

As far as I can tell the leg warmer is not designed to be removed and look nothing like the Gitzo leg warmer accessories available for purchase. It is interesting to note that this appears to be a localised variation of the Gitzo tripods as you will not find these anywhere else on the planet.
