Good thing: Lots of stuff to photograph
Bad thing: it's been done countless times before
This may induce uncontrolable yawning from many of you but even though this scene can be found on postcards in tourist kiosks throughout the city, it's still represents the first time I've had a chance to photograph it with something more than a disposal film camera.
Anyway, here it is: Lombard Street. The crookedest roadway in the US...or so say the travel brochures. LOL

Ah, Lombard Street. The smell of hot brake shoes.

I wish I had a nickel for every time I've taken visiting friends and relatives down that street. It is an obligatory tourist attraction for all San Francisco first-timers. I once followed a motorhome down that hill. I was very happy to be behind it and not in front of it, and was quite impressed that it actually survived the trip.I really wouldn't recommend it to the feint-hearted.

Me too. I'd have, let's see...15¢
I've lived in the area for 25 yrs and have taken the ride down Lombard 3 times; each time with first-time SF visitors. The experience compares favorably with taking a gulp of warm flat beer.
But hey, it's SF. Soon I hope to take my second cable car ride. LOL

I can safely say that I have no desire to drive a tractor trailer down that.

OMG! A road in the US with corners! Are there lots of accidents there? I didn't think American cars went round corners... (British humour!):lol: Please feel free to make fun of Bowler hats, Tea and our weather.
