I favor the second one a lot more. First one doesn't have too much interest and it's centered.

Second one has nice lighting and the DOF works with the shot.

thanks, I know it's a pretty boring subject. Some of you people on this forum somehow find really nice compositions on really plain subjects. I guess I am practicing on simple fundamentals such as this. Any more tips appreciated!

You could try the first one with a greater focus range. I think it'd be really cool that way.

And the second one is great!

looks like dimarzio super distortion ... 1st is best IMO ... great angle and focus and designed for a player!

Hey thanks Amanda, I think I will give it a try. I see your from my hometown Calgary, crazy grey cup game today over there!
