Some headshots taken of my friend Sara. No setup time, more like candids. Please critique/comment.
Thanks,

For candids, these are perfectly fine. Cute woman.

on the critique side, the background detracts from the image's main subject...kept looking at my favorite cocktail ingredients :-)
I'm assuming you used a flash?? Perhaps upping the ISO, opening up the aperture, and trying ambient light could remove the shiny spots on the face. Just a thought...

Nice pics. She is pretty.

The only thing I see is that the flash (reflection). the light is a little hard and you can see the hard shadow on the neck.

Cheers

The lens was a bit too sharp IMO and the face could use some softening. I don't know if its the makeup or skin texture, but the face looks very oily. Some post processing should be able to alleviate some of that.

i like em, but i would move her away from the bottles, you move closer to her, and soften you flash. but one they way to some great photos.

Thanks for the input everyone. I normally use my Lumiquest softbox, however, it was hiding in my other bag when I got the chance to take these. Live and learn. Again, thanks for the comments, only way to learn and get better.

Her face is pretty shiny, yeah, oily and she's wearing waaay too much makeup but no photographer can make up for that.

I do not think she is wearing too much makeup, however if she could have used powder on her face right before the pics, that would help eliminate glare. All in all, nice pics and an attractive woman.
